Founded in 2007, HITEC University is a private sector university located in Taxila, Punjab. HITEC University enrolled its first batch of 250 students in November 2007. At the time, the University of Engineering and Technology was affiliated with Taxila. The university was chartered by the Punjab government in 2009. The Heavy Industries Taxila Education Welfare Trust (HITEWT) sponsors HITEC University. Because the university was originally conceived as part of this welfare trust.
The university has readily accepted international laws and policies to improve the quality of education. The administration, faculty, and administration of the university strive to make HITEC one of the leading universities in Pakistan. The state-of-the-art Blood Campus is spread over 50 acres and is located at the foot of the Margalla Hills, a few kilometers from the historically important city of Taxila. The University has made significant progress since its inception. The Higher Education Commission has recognized the commendable services rendered by the University in the field of education and has therefore placed it in the ‘W’ category.
